Are my parents being to strict or is it right?

ok here is the problem, i am a 14 year old dude, and i have friends and all that stuff, but my parents don't like me getting older. my computer still has parental control, so i can't watch youtube, or install anything without a pword that my dad put on my comp, and i can't go to my friends house because he has a ear piercing and it is a "bad influence" for me. my dad wants to stand up for me, but he is too afraid of my mom and always goes on her side. it is that way because she is a control freak. she still does my hair this real dorky way because " she doesn't want me looking like a hoodlum, only a gentleman" IT IS REALLY BOTHERING ME! is it right that there doing this or is it them. i tried talking to them but the same thing pops up " we only want best for you and this is what is best" are they to strict or am i overreacting? (do not type rude answers, im having my parents read this to prove them thi is wrong)
