Eye infection or what?

I just got a 1 1/2 year old shar-pei male from a private owner. She said nothing was wrong with the dog but i got to looking at all his papers and he had been to the vet in 09 for a eye infection and i think he still has it his eyes have green slime coming out of the an d it is hard for him to open them any suggestions?
