Short-sale question.If I made an offer on a home shouldn't I be contacted by the homeowners.will give points?

I submitted an asking price offer five days ago.This is the first home I have offered on before this my real estate agent called and responded to anything 24/7 instantly.He was ALWAYS available.After we offered we tried to contact him multiple times a day and he didnt respond now after the fifth day he finally answered and says that its a setup that relatives are going to buy the home and that was all he said.BUT it seems strange because we went to see the home and the people were sincere,thorough and explained their situation(why would they to all this trouble if they had a hidden agenda).Our real estate agent is acting really fishy he doesnt seem to be the honest kind and we know he works with investors.Plus the home is a good deal it's not underpriced but not overpriced.We know it can sell for more so we even think our agent didnt submit the offer how can I be sure he did submit our offer.?What can I do we really like this home?HELPPP
