Are there any young ed veterans are out there who served honorably and proudly?

My best friend is also MtF. She is 26 and won a bronze star when she saved three comrades who were trapped with a dead Hummer. She got back home a little over a year ago and immediately started hormone treatments. She feminized very quickly and now when she's clowning around, trying on her uniform, it looks like it belongs to her boyfriend.
