I have a 1 year old Neo Mastiff with an eye infection...?

well, he had cherry eye, which we had removed. We followed the vets instructions and put the antibiotic ointment in his eye for 10 days... this was about 3 months ago. Recently, in the same eye, he has developed some kind of infection and his eye looks blue as if he has a cataract or something and is discharging very gooey stuff. HE HAS AN APPT. WITH VET but i was hoping someone might be able to recognize what is going on with him. All of the websites say that 1 year is too young to have a cataract, but if thats not what it is, i just dont know. Please help if you can! Thanks!
